Welcome.
Learning to knit is more than learning a craft and encouraging creative
expression.
Creativity

alternatives in any future career. Your child will learn to do things
in new ways and benefit from thinking "out of the box".The
professional knitting instructor develops and imparts skills and qualities
such as: planning, organization, following instructions, giving directions,
setting and meeting goals, self esteem, practical math, creativity, and
important time management skills.
Learning
to knit involves; manual dexterity and coordination, reading and auditory
comprehension (following written and verbal instructions) and visual decision
making. Click here
to find out some more benefits having your child learn how to knit.
Knitting is an excellent activity for transcending and/or appealing to
your child's individual learning style(s). Learning to knit is unique
in that it involves all four learning styles, the SPATIAL VISUAL, KINETIC,
LANGUAGE-ORIENTED and the LOGICAL at the same time. Therefore, whatever
your child's learning style(s) he or she will be actively engaged during
each session. For a quick learning style review, and tips for your child's

Lotte McCloud Bio
Lotte McCloud has been involved in the creative arts for as long as she
can remember. Lotte is on a personal quest to teach traditional "hands
on" crafts such as knitting which are so important as part of a well
rounded education.
Lotte McCloud began her education in London, Great Britain. She attended
well renowned private schools, Broomfield
House School (primary level) and Francis
Holland School for Girls (secondary level). Their educational programs
encouraged the development of her artistic talents as a child and on into
early adulthood.
She
graduated from both these schools achieving an outstanding nine "0
Levels".
After moving to Los Angeles, she attended Santa Monica College at the
age of sixteen and was on the Dean's List after only one semester.
With a concentration on Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Jewelry Design
and Painting, she went on to attend the Otis
Parsons Institute of Arts. Later, to complete her education, she went
through one of premier computer graphics programs offered in the early
1990's at UCLA Extension.
In addition to knitting, painting and jewelry making, she worked in the
fashion software industry at companies including Lectra
Systems, Styleclick and Modacad.
After establishing herself as a successful graphic designer in a corporate
environment, she went on to teach unique programs in cutting edge fashion
software for the doctorate staff at Kent
State University and Colorado
State University. Both universities are known for their pioneer programs
in the textile arts.
Currently she and and her husband are involved in web design, creative
programs and educational programs for children and for the digital world.
In 2000 she took a class at Wildfiber Knitting Studio in Santa Monica.
thereafter, she honed her skills and continued with knitting as a passionate
vocation. In 2005 with delight she returned to Wildfiber as a part time
employee for one year, and with great enthusiasm gained experience teaching,
and advising knitting aficionados of all ages. Currently she is a member
of the Knitting Guild of America and offers private knitting instruction
on the West Side of Los Angeles.
